Bed & Breakfast
Throughout the year you may have the opportunity to stay in the
Stevenson House on a bed and breakfast basis. This allows you to soak up
even more of the atmosphere and to be pampered in Georgian splendour.
There are one double and two single rooms on the first and second floor
respectively. The double bedroom used to be the bedroom of Robert Louis
parents and features a beautiful four poster bed, William Morris pattern
wallpaper with the en-suite bathroom being the original Stevenson
installation (see Pictures of Interest). The two single bedrooms share a
bathroom: one is situated at the rear of the building with a superb view
across to Fife and the other being the actual bedroom of Stevenson himself
at the front of the building.
All rooms are well equipped and offer our guests the unique advantage of
staying right in the city centre close to most of the city's attractions,
museums and theatres.
Edinburgh's main railway station, Waverley, is 10 minutes walk away and
the journey to the airport takes about half an hour by bus, taxi or car.
The prices are £100 for the double and £45 each for the singles, per night
including of a delicious breakfast with home-baked bread and jams made
by Mrs Macfie herself.
