Allotment Harvest

The allotment in Inverleith has been very productive and so we have been able to use quite a bit of our produce for our dinners.  The RLS Club came last Friday for a "Three Robbies Dinner" and I managed to use salad and potatoes from the garden as well as some home made plum concoction.

The B&B guests this past weekend were especially lucky as we had the first lot of raspberries from our new "Autumn Bliss" plants.

Together with the muesli it made for a very satisfying start to the day.  So, if you are either an avid or intrepid gardener, please swap tips with me, Felicitas.

Festival over for another year

Once more the Festival is over and Edinburgh pauses for breath before the students take up residence again.

It has been a wonderful experience with a good mixture of known and unknown repertoire, including a world premiere of which sadly the BBC took no notice.  But the German television ARD came to film the Festival Concert of the Really Terrible Orchestra (www.thereallyterribleorchestra.com) and to interview me, proud 2nd violin ! The interview will be on 20th September 11pm on ARD in the series "Titel, Thesen, Temperamente".

We have had many interesting guests from both far and near and have enjoyed reviewing the concerts together in the morning over coffee.  If you have missed this year's Festival, make sure to book early next year ! (www.eif.co.uk)

And now that autumn is truly under way, we have not only painted our front door in a new stylish red, but have also given the new website a good push and this is the result !  Please let us have your comments and suggestions for improvements, as ever we are eager to hear from you !
