Welcome to the Stevenson House, one of Edinburgh's most unusual hospitality venues.
Built between 1802 and 1806, the Stevenson House is a typical Georgian New Town house which has always been in private ownership and is still used as the family home for John & Felicitas Macfie as well as their six children.
Having trained as an hotel manager in Lausanne, Felicitas Macfie realised the potential of the Stevenson House to be used as a venue for hosting lunches, dinners, receptions and conferences. The house retains all of its original architectural features and has the atmosphere of an elegant family home rather than a commercial venue.
The Macfies pride themselves on giving very individual service and tailoring each event to the needs of their client. Whether you are a private client or a large corporation, you are given maximum flexibility and a whole range of services to suit your every wish.

The year is drawing to its close and it is time for Advent again. The Stevenson House dons it's festive dress and welcomes once again Beatrice von Tresckow and her fabulous designs for the annual winter sale. Come and bring your friends on Friday 7th December from 11am to 8pm and on Saturday 8th December from 11am to 6pm.

With the Scottish Summer being such a wash-out this year, we have concentrated on the washing facilities in the Stevenson House and can now happily announce that the bathroom on the second floor has been completely re-vamped and is now a modern shower room with underfloor heating!

he weather this year has made the work in the allotment quite challenging. Thanks to kind friends, all the raspberries have been changed over to "Autumn Bliss" and I am still harvesting them for the house and breakfast.
